Having worked in the mental health profession for over 25 years, Dr. Aunjuli Hicks is a licensed mental health professional and owner of the Hicks Group Wellness Center. In addition to being the Hicks Group Wellness Center owner, she also runs a non-profit organization called ALWEH. ALWEH focuses on providing mental health services to those without insurance who cannot afford mental health and substance abuse treatment. Dr. Hicks' primary work is with individuals suffering from domestic violence, traumas, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Hicks is particular about whom she takes as a client; her ideal client is ready for transformative change and motivated to do the therapeutic work that comes with counseling. Using a combination of cognitive behavior therapy and individual Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Dr. Hicks has a multi-dimensional approach; "I want my patients to learn to live in peace." Her method uses various techniques and counseling styles that fit the clients' needs. She challenges her patients and supports them in their life's journey. This entails lots of self-reflection and working through uncomfortable awakenings through the patient and therapist relationship. Dr. Hicks also supervises a team of skilled Licensed Therapists. Her office provides a multi-dimensional approach in counseling, bringing about personal growth, dignity, and self-worth to every client to achieve alternative, developmental, and behavioral changes. The Hicks Group Wellness Center helps those suffering from low self-esteem, anxiety, PTSD, depression, stressors, and unhealthy relationships, including domestic violence. The office works with both civilian, military, and law enforcement officers alike. They cater to individuals suffering from fibroids, cancers, lupus, and HIV/AIDS. Finally, they are Kink-friendly. The mission is to provide mental & behavioral counseling and recovery service, which focuses on overall psychological, emotional, body, and spiritual wellness. This mission includes the following: 1. Having a multi-dimensional approach to our counseling, staffing, coaching, and consulting services brings about personal growth and dignity. 2. Working with our clients to learn new ways to cope with stressful life situations by implementing individualized therapeutic approaches that meet their needs. 3. Working in cooperation and networking with certified/licensed clinicians and practitioners, education support service staff, massage therapists, teachers, social workers, nurses, probation officers, U.S. Veterans Affairs, as well as City, County, State, and GSA Government agencies, we are a resource in bringing the public the highest standard of service skills for restoration, maintenance, and improvement in mental & emotional well-being, social wellness, and physical health. In the words of Dr. Hicks, "We desire for our patients to learn to live in their own truth and challenge them to get out of their own way from their own growth. Our role is simple, to facilitate the awareness, growth, and psychological development of YOU." If you're ready, please call.
