Faith

Centering Thought of the Day

“Faith does not make things easy it makes them possible.”~Unknown

steps

Some of you have a history of pain. Childhood wasn’t good. You struggle to get up in the morning because of depression. You have a chronic illness that continues to plague your life and you’re tired of the doctors. Grief has you because the loss of a loved one and you’re not quite sure if you can go on without them. Or you have been fired from your job and you feel it was unjustified. Yet you do not think you have the strength to start a business or go back to school. You get in your car and call yourself names. Thinking no one will love you. Or you will not find someone who can or will love you for who you are. Some of you sabotage your own success. You have addictions and you cannot stop. But you can bring something better into your life. Anything- my friend.

So what are you waiting for? For something to change? For the right timing? Life usually does not work that way. It is about taking risk. Stepping out even when you cannot see ahead. Walking through the valleys with your head high. Climbing the mountains even when you’re tired. No one said the journey would be easy. Actually life can be full of complexities. Your job is to see it for what it is and still move forward anyway. But how?

Faith. Do you know what it is? It knowing something that has not happened yet. Putting things out there that have yet to form into existence but believing it will anyway. To focus on something and move toward it even when everyone around you is convinced it isn’t important or relevant to your life. To have a vision or purpose of something and despite its failings you continue to keep the flames burning. It is making the impossible possible. Faith is being scared to death and still standing tall.

So walk. Keep going. Push. Get up. Rise and breathe. For what you put out into the universe you will get.

Impression (Tues)

Centering Thought of the Day

“Wake up and live.”~Unknown

Many go through life trying to impress upon others that they deserve to exist. How about you? Is it your boss, parents, friends, or partner? Somehow we convince ourselves that we need their approval to be where we are today. It has become the central component of living life. We may call it ambition, goals, or competition but it is really about impressing others. And by doing so we ruin the most important relationship.  The relationship with ourselves.  We forget who we are and start to wonder, ‘Why am I here?’ or  ‘What is my purpose?’ It isn’t a bad idea to ask those questions sometimes, but much of the time it does not come from having a rude awakening, but by proving our self-worth to someone else.

So, whom are we trying to impress? Who are we trying to race to the finish line? For the journey of life is usually for you and you alone. Thus we can give up the need in making good or bad impressions. We can stop saying to ourselves, “I will show you.” We can finally begin living the life we want to live.

It is okay to be on this planet. Stop asking.  We were created to be on it- so live in it. Make mistakes. Create something. Love and cry. Stay single or get married. Travel or be a homebody. Get a degree or don’t. But live for you. Life is your own. Write your story. And do not worry who reads it. It is only important that it is written and that you love what you have written.
